Activities
We’re excited to present two of our premium cultural visits. These private visits offered by Atri Cultura i Patrimoni SLU give you the chance to discover —in a fun, educational, straightforward and rigorous manner— the history and cultural heritage of Catalonia, a country whose history and language stretch back over more than a thousand years.
These are local activities for private groups, because we believe it’s necessary to explore the area on foot and experience things in situ.
An added value of these activities is that they’re led by specialists (professional historians and/or archaeologists) with direct knowledge of the elements and places included in the visit. They’re unique visits!
Discover our country, enjoy our heritage, find inspiration by observing things, take photos of architectural or natural features, explore the area on foot and breathe in the local nature. You can do all of this on our cultural visits.
A truly special, unique experience, ideal for small private groups!
Cultural visit: Caldes, the Art Nouveau and spa town
Description of the activity:
- We offer you a truly special and unique experience, a “km 0” visit led by a member of the team that has carried out the most recent excavations of the Roman city of Aquae Calidae. Who better to explain the secrets and curiosities of a Roman site that’s over 2,000 years old?
- We’ll visit the Roman Baths and discover the recent archaeological finds of Aquae Calidae.
- We’ll discover how Caldes became a spa town, why it was chosen by the Romans as one of the twenty sites in Catalonia where they established cities, and how the Romans enjoyed the thermal baths just as we continue to do today in the town’s two spas.
- Then we’ll stroll around the streets of Caldes, exploring the Art Nouveau architecture that sprang up around the town’s spa culture and its establishment as a summer retreat. Highlights include the Prats Spa and the Vichy Catalan Spa.
